We survived another night in this insane hospital, yay! The doctors are giving Brianna IV Tylenol. It has been used in Europe but was just recently approved for use here. Her nurse said Brianna is the first one on this floor to try it. It has had good results so far for her. Seems to work much better than oral tablet Tylenol but doesn’t last long enough.
When I discussed Brianna’s pain with one of her nurses a couple of days ago, she suggested Tordol, and said she would see if she could get it for her. I then questioned what exactly that was. she said it is the IV version of Motrin. Ugh!!!! I said “Brianna has renal failure so she definitely can’t have that”! She dumbfoundedly said, oh yeah.
I am a firm believer that every child in here needs an advocate. I swear they would kill these children if someone else doesn’t stay on top of things! I am not quite sure what The Children’s Hospital is so well known and respected for. We had to fight for 2 hours to get her admitted, and the admissions rep just contacted us to sign a consent form this morning! Hello?????? We have been here since Sunday! What if I don’t consent now to treatment? Isn’t it a little late? Again people, get it together!
