It’s been a long time since I have written. The summer has been a difficult one with Brianna’s health and other life struggles. She missed out on a month of her 2 1/2 month summer break due to her surgery in June. Her dog passed away 3 weeks ago which she was very saddened by, followed by a nasty bladder infection which spread to her kidneys. We spent 12 hours in the ER on Tuesday, and now she is on oral antibiotics to try to get rid of this persistent infection! She started middle school August 8th and was able to attend school for the 1st week like all of her friends. Then, she missed the second week but will return tomorrow. What a brave and strong little girl. Speaking of little though, she is all of 48 pounds and her backpack weighs 9 pounds! The poor child’s back is heavily strained. I will have to have a talk with the school tomorrow to find a better solution to this problem. The 6th graders don’t even get lockers. But, the school got a fancy new sign this summer that tells the temperature and scrolls to give messages. Hmmm. Priorities?!?!
