Brianna in HospitalOk. So I am a day behind in posting. It is crazy in here and there is always so much going on! I finally got some rest Tuesday night. Although my sleep was interrupted all night long by nurses coming in to check her stats, I was so grateful to get some and feel almost like a new person.  I was ready to take in more information about Brianna’s new challenges in life and how we are going to manage them.

The doctors have started Brianna on a blood pressure medication but still need to perfect the dosage as it is not controlling it yet. We have also learned that she is highly anemic and needs shots to help her produce more red blood cells. So, she will be taking daily BP medication, Iron pills, multi-vitamin, and weekly Epogen shots.

It is now Thursday. March 10th and we are hopeful Brianna will be discharged today! Yay!!!!! She has many doctor’s appointments in the upcoming weeks to closely monitor her blood pressure, as well as an ultrasound to look at her kidneys, and a urology appointment to remove the foley catheter. Moments ago, Brianna’s dad was trained how to give her shot, so we are almost ready to run out of here!

Brianna misses her dog and her classmates. She will return to school in a few weeks and resume her normal life. Really not too bad of an outcome for such a scary situation!
