It’s Friday night and guess where we are? I’ll give you one guess. Yep, you got it, Children’s Hospital ER!<\/p>\n
Here we are again, with the same symptoms again! Brianna has severe pain in her side and back along with vomiting and diarrhea. The same symptoms she has had every other Friday for the past 3 months!!!
\nWhen we checked in this evening, I made it clear that if they don’t DO SOMETHING to help her tonight, we will be on our way to the next hospital. I am so sick of watching my child hurt and shake and cry, with no relief!<\/p>\n
They have been treating her for a kidney infection every time and I don’t think that is what the problem is. I know they are overlooking something else. I have talked to her urologist and her pediatrician about this and they finally agree with me. It is most likely a bowel obstruction or severe constipation.\u00a0 Brianna has had these issues since her bladder was reconstructed with bowel in June. Also, her entire abdomen is fried from radiation which has caused her many problems over the years.\u00a0 The late effects of chemotherapy and radiation are unreal!<\/p>\n
The doctor is ordering an abdominal x-ray now and Vicodin for the pain.\u00a0 Brianna is SO uncomfortable. Depending on what they find in the x-ray, she will probably receive an enema too. They are getting ready to start an IV.<\/p>\n
My poor child just can’t catch a break. She missed almost the entire week of school and has so much work to do to catch up. How is she supposed to concentrate on anything with this much pain?<\/p>\n
People who don’t have to spend their days and nights in the hospital REALLY need to count their blessings.\u00a0 And I bet all of the people who are out there dancing and having a great time on their Friday nights, don’t even give it a second thought!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
